I am certainly not one to beat around the bush, so let's get to the point. We all make decisions every day which either help or hurt our wellness. Poor lifestyle choices lead to poor health, there's no way around it. You cannot fix years of ill health in a few months. Choices, choices, choices... it all comes down to choices people!

Let's do the Math

Over the years, I've come across the same issue over and over again. Bad habits are often easier to invest in because they make us feel good in the moment. These same people, who invest in these bad habits, complain they feel poorly and have no energy to do anything.

People will justify and rationalize bad habits which make them unhealthy and yet be unwilling to invest in good habits because they are "too expensive." For example: If a pack of cigarettes costs $25 per pack and you smoke one pack a day, you'd be spending $700 per month which totals $8,400 per year. My personal training costs $460 for twelve sessions.

Take personal inventory and total up all your bad habits. Account for the time, energy and money you invest. Do the math and get honest with yourself! This is the first step to meaningful change.

Do Something About It

Change is hard but sickness is harder. I'm amazed how often people cling to all the things which make them unhealthy. If you complain about being sedentary, do something about it! When you become a willing participant in your unhealthy lifestyle, the blame rests on you. If you're aware of the problem and choose to ignore it, then the reason for your poor health is much to do with your choice. If you wish to spend your time in doctors offices, then by all means keep doing what you're doing. It all comes down to what you want from life. We can't properly blame everyone else for your inaction.

You Know What You Need to Do

Do you think I'm being too harsh? The truth is often regarded that way. No one wants to hear it but I'm not interested in wasting your time. Come on readers, you know what I'm saying is right. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you know the solution to the problem. If something is important to you, you'll make it happen. Health should be number one on your to do list. In the words of Yoda, "Do or do not, there is no try." It's up to you to choose.
