The Artist Within: Beginner Acrylic Painting for Older Adults

Have you ever wanted to learn how to paint but are not quite sure where to start? I’m an award winning local artist and art, for me, is not a hobby, it is my purpose! I am teaching Beginner Acrylic Painting for Older Adults because I want to share my love of creativity with my community. My goal is to create an inclusive environment which allows people to enjoy the process of painting.

My artistic journey started five years ago, during a very hard time in my life. Creativity allowed me to find my true purpose and I believe others can reap the benefits as well. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush, all you need is the desire to learn. We all have to start somewhere, so let me help you get started.

Don’t be intimidated by the process of painting! You can relax and enjoy a warm and inviting social experience, while learning how to paint with other adults. Let me show you the basics of brush work, color mixing and how to compose a beautiful landscape. You’ll create a unique painting to bring home!

Join the four week course, held every Saturday, in St. John’s Presbyterian Church, at 319 Queen St, Port Perry. The course runs on four consecutive Saturdays, September 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Participate for $159, I’ll bring the materials and you bring yourself.
