What gets you out of bed in the morning? When you wake up every day, there are a million reasons not to exercise, but all you need is one reason to do it. Go look at the mirror, and you have your answer. You need to be the reason why you get out of bed in the morning. Your health matters!
Put Yourself First
No one else is going to do it for you, so it's okay to put yourself first once in a while. The world will not stop! We have such guilt associated with making time for ourselves. The question I always ask is this: “If you’re so busy looking after others and you get sick, how are you going to look after anyone?” While it is noble to help others, it’s not so noble to make yourself sick because of it. Just remember you’re worthy of helping yourself. Making time for your health means enjoying more quality time with others.
If it matters, you’ll do it
I’ve heard enough excuses in my career to sink a boat. At the end of the day, if it matters, then you’ll do it. There is no good time to change your life, so if that’s what you’re waiting for, you’ll be waiting forever.
It’s a Choice
The choices you make either help or hinder your goals. The time and effort you put into being unwell is the same time and effort you need to put into feeling well.
A Little Goes a Long Way
What is one thing you can do today? If the goal is to become more active, start small. Take a 20-minute walk on your lunch break and do that every single day.
