It was exciting to have a couple of news items submitted to me this week. The Family of Floyd and Grace Evans are sending wedding anniversary wishes to their parents on the occasion of their 65th anniversary on June 9th. The community sends their very best wishes too for many such celebrations for them in the future.
June was typically the month for weddings. I know of several, so I wish every couple a special anniversary marking the second one to celebrate in covid.
There will not be an annual. Decoration service for the Utica cemeteries, but you are asked to come out and decorate your loved ones’ graves on the second Sunday in June(12th). The cemetery board would also appreciate you thinking about us for their charitable donations. The maintenance costs do not go down during these times, so community support is more important than ever. Donations can be mailed to Utica Cemetery Board Box 717, Port Perry Ont L9L 1A6 or processed electronically by e-transfer to uticacemeteryboard@gmail.com. You can also pay by credit card through canadahelps.org or be hand-deliver to Pat Kerry at Green Tractors in Utica.
Did you notice how loud the robins sang after the rain on Wednesday evening? They were certainly showing their thanks. I spied a cedar waxwing hovering over my small strawberry patch. How do they get the message the berries are ripening? Usually, they appear for the mulberry fruit.
