EPSOM & UTICA by Faye Ashton

What an amazing Olympics! So much skill, endurance, elation, and disappointment all accumulated in four years of striving for excellence. Congratulations on 26 metals Canada.

This past weekend we just experienced an old-fashioned winter. The school students home on Thursday, icy conditions, and heavy snow falling on Thursday night, the P.D. day on Friday was more welcome when expected.

On Saturday, anyone on the roads found it almost impossible to see through all the snow falling and blowing wind, with many roads impassable by afternoon. The blowing continued through Sunday but without the falling snow.

Happy Birthday to Shari Kerry, who celebrates on the 24th. Wishing a special birthday to all who are celebrating during the month of February.

We are all wishing a quick recovery to Doris Armstrong, who is spending a few days at Port Perry Hospital.

We extend sympathy to the family of Allan Andrews of Valentine, formally of Epsom. To wife Marjorie, son Richard and family, Allan’s sisters Fran Taylor, Jean Rankin, and brother Bob Andrews. Allan’s parents raised their family on the farm at the corner of Marsh Hill road and the 8th concession north of the village.

All are welcome to Epsom church at 10 a.m. this Sunday, February 27th, with Rev. Edith Ann as minister.
