Woman charged after incident occurs at Port Perry waterfront

SCUGOG: A 61-year-old woman has been charged by Durham Regional Police (DRPS) with causing a disturbance, following an incident in Port Perry’s Palmer Park in August.

According to police, on August 15th, at 7 p.m. North Division officers responded to reports of “a female yelling racial slurs at several people.”

“When police arrived, both the female suspect and victims had left the area. On August 16th, 2021, a video of the incident was posted on social media, depicting the female suspect yelling racial slurs at several victims. Upon further investigation, officers at North Division were able to identify the suspect,” a DRPS press release stated.

Police have not named the 61-year-old suspect, who was charged “by way of a Summons.” Anyone who has any new information on this case is being asked to contact North Division, at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2674.
