What can you do during Bike Month?

NORTH DURHAM: North Durham: June is Bike Month in Durham Region.

The Region of Durham is challenging residents to take the pledge and reduce carbon emissions throughout the Region. Taking the pledge means, letting the Region know how you’re celebrating Bike Month this June. Committing to the pledge also enters you into a draw, giving you a chance to win some prizes.

The first prize is a $100 gift card for North Cycle. There is one gift card available. The second prize is a $25 Visa gift card, and there are eight of those available. The third prize is a Durham Bike Month prize pack, and there are two available.

You can find the Bike Month Pledge rules on the Region’s website, at www.durham.ca/bikemonth.

The Region wants participants to keep in mind cyclists hold full responsibility for their own safety while taking part in this pledge.

You can play Bike Month Bingo for a chance to win a $50 gift card. You also have a chance to win the grand prize of a $100 e-gift card (choose from a list of select businesses). To participate in the Bike Month Bingo event, go to the Durham Region website.

The Region will accept bingo card submissions up until June 30th, 2022, when Bike Month ends.

There is also a Bike Month scavenger hunt. To participate in the scavenger hunt, download the GooseChase app, to your phone or tablet. Players must submit photos of each “mission” they complete during the scavenger hunt. If you’d like to be entered into the Bike Month scavenger hunt contest, you must complete a minimum of three missions.
