SEAGRAVE by Barb Martyn

I am amazed at the creativity of the young and old during these complicated times. Some examples of this creativity are: designed cookies, colouring pages, sidewalk chalk designs, painted rocks, drive-by’s for front line workers, teachers greeting their students, truck loads of food being donated to food banks, singing, dancing and music. The monies collected are being donated to charities, and the list continues to grow. It’s the simple things that really matter. When life is pared down to it’s core essentials, it’s the love for family, people, nature, and most of all the love of life itself you can appreciate. If we all lived by the simple Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you”, we could live in peace. Happy Birthday wishes to Barb Martyn on June 18th. Happy Anniversary wishes to Frank and Eva Molnar on June 15th and Karen and Bill Huestis on June 20th. Best wishes to all others celebrating special occasions. Congratulations to Megan McLaughlin of Seagrave for graduating from S. A. Cawker Public School in Port Perry. Way to go Megan! Two corrections for last week’s Greenbank news. No. 1: Ena Wasenaar celebrated her 80th birthday (not 84th) on June 4th. No. 2: Mary (Till) Real passed away June 4th, at Caressant Care in Lindsay, she was the wife of Ross Real. Condolences to their children, daughter Dawn (Dave Chambers), daughter Kim, son Rod, sisters-in-law, Betty Stone and Mary Jean Till. Each Friday evening (weather permitting) Dave Bell entertains the people of Greenbank with his music. The light of Christ shines in all of us, bringing us peace in our hearts and hope.
