Epsom & Utica News

We know many farmers are out surveying their crops after the late afternoon storm on Saturday, including heavy hail for the Utica and Manchester area. This is one of several times a devastating storm has hit this area at this time of year. Please know the community has you in their prayers.
We’ve watched the crops grow and grow with all the rains we’ve been blessed with, but in a flash all can change. Which makes us realize we don’t control much.
Friday night was special at the Ashton shed as relatives and friends celebrated Rob and Allison’s 25th wedding anniversary. The thunderstorms predicted for that day didn’t materialize, and it was a beautiful evening to be out. Rob and Allison were married at the farm on August 11th, 2001. That was a very hot summer. We drew water to get some green in the lawn, but it didn't help, so we had to provide more. The weather always has a mind of its own!
Carter and Abby were home for the weekend, and shortly after they return to North Bay, Carter will start his schooling with the Bruce Nuclear program. We are wishing you well in this new adventure.
Church at Epsom United is on August 23rd, at 10:30 a.m. Join the congregation at Glen Major this Sunday, August 16th, at 7 p.m., with Rev. Keven Oates (music).
It’s a thoughtful reminder of how quickly weather can change and how important community support is when storms cause damage. The anniversary celebration sounds like a wonderful evening too, especially with the unpredictable weather staying away. Best wishes to Carter as he starts the Bruce Nuclear program! On a lighter note, I’ve also been enjoying the Poople game, a simple word puzzle that’s a fun way to take a quick break and challenge yourself.
