PONTYPOOL by Coralee MacDonald

I want to wish all the moms out there a very happy mother’s day. I hope that you all have a beautiful day.

Our community has many little businesses that have great ideas for mother’s day. Please remember to shop locally to help out those small businesses.

The fire ban has been lifted, so now you can enjoy a nice fire with your family.

A big congratulations goes out to Jill Moffatt (28 years old) from Bethany for earning a spot in the Tokyo Olympic games with her teammate Jennifer Casson (24 years old) from Kingston, in the lightweight double scull rowing. We will be cheering you on here at home Jill. Way to go!

Aunt Laura’s tea room in Bethany is hosting a fundraiser for the Mavers Historical Society with dinner for Mom for mother’s day. Food will include: parmesan chicken, rice pilaf, beans, carrots, tossed salad, and blueberry apple crisp. Admission is $18 for adults, and $9 for children’s admission. Order online only by emailing: kmorton131@gmail.com. Pick up on May 9th between 5 and 7 p.m. Remember to watch out for children and drive slow in town. Many kids are out and about.

Stay home and stay safe, and remember to call those you love and miss. This is a hard time time for us all.
