SCUGOG: The Port Perry MoJacks took to the ice, on Sunday, February 6th, for their first game in 2022, following the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) season pause. They faced their rival, the Uxbridge Bruins.

Just two and a half minutes into the first period, the Bruins scored the game’s first goal. Twenty-three seconds later, the Bruins struck again, putting the MoJacks behind 2-0. But, over eight minutes in, Cody Bricknell scored his sixth goal of the season, cutting the deficit to 2-1. However, the Bruins scored three more times in the period, putting Port Perry down 5-1, after the first 20 minutes.

The Bruins extended the lead to 6-1 with a goal nearly halfway through the second period. Late in the period, recently signed forward, Marcus Arabe scored his first goal as a MoJack, making it a 6-2 game.

Just 32 seconds into the third period, Arabe scored his second goal of the game, cutting the lead in half at 6-3. By the halfway mark of the period, though, the Bruins had scored two more times, increasing Port Perry’s deficit to 8-3. Six and a half minutes later, the Bruins tallied another goal. Jack Davis scored with 47 seconds left on the clock, making it a 9-4 game. But that’s as close as Port Perry would get, losing to the Bruins 9-4.
