DAN CEARNS The Standard

The Port Perry Lumberjacks lost their only game of the weekend, extending their losing streak to four games.

On Sunday, February 11th, the Lumberjacks hosted their North Durham rival, the Uxbridge Bruins, at Scugog Arena.

Nearly nine minutes into the first period, the Bruins scored a power-play goal to make it a 1-0 game. About seven minutes later, the Lumberjacks turned over the puck while they were on the power play, and the Bruins scored a shorthanded breakaway goal.

Tensions boiled over late in the period when a brawl formed in front of the Lumberjacks net. This led to penalties of charging and head contact on both sides, with the Lumberjacks penalties going to Nolan Goddard and Aaron Dawson.

Despite outshooting the Bruins 16 to 6 in the second period, the Lumberjacks were unable to put the puck in the net, and the score remained 2-0.

Over a minute and a half into the third period, the Bruins struck again, widening the gap to 3-0. Before the period's halfway mark, the Bruins would score again to make it a 4-0 game. Parker Lemay scored 14 and a half minutes in, but the Bruins added an empty net goal later in the period. The Lumberjacks lost by a score of 5-1.
