More people are living longer, due to advances in medical science. Yet, we are still vulnerable to ailments, and increase chronic conditions, such as diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, ophthalmology and mental illness. Other risk factors include obesity, high blood pressure, ones family history, along with daily diet and physical inactivity. They are all interconnected. Your body is a complex network and an amazing design. For those who look to see, this is evidence of the Creator. As a result of this interconnection, when one organ isn't working correctly, it can affect other organs and this can cause them to work less efficiently.

I believe, based on biblical perspectives, God designed the human beings to work as an integrated system of flesh, soul and spirit. Your body is viewed not just as a machine but as a "temple" of the Holy Spirit. The body is a means by which our inner life, such as our thoughts and emotions (known in scripture as our soul), and our spirit, are expressed in the material world. In Psalms 139:14 the Bible expresses we have been, "fearfully and wonderfully made." KJV Every person is seen as purposeful, even in cases of dysfunction or disability, in other words, as with those who are alternately capable.

Food for thought: Are we damaging or in some cases destroying the Holy Spirit's home from over activity or inactivity? We should chew on that and let that sink in!

It is necessary to take a few encouraging steps towards a longer, healthier life. Expressing yourself can boost self-esteem, whether it's increasing mental health awareness, or merely improving your mood, Simple things like purchasing a new outfit to wear, from the thrift store, can increase confidence and improve attitude. Self-care is not a luxury, it is a fundamental necessity. A little bit of order brings a lot of peace.

Another easy thing for our interconnection is a daily walk, it really can be good for your state of mind. This is beneficial by ones self and even nicer when quiet with a friend. Walking regularly is a great way to improve your mood, increase cardiac benefit, stimulate healthy blood circulation and reduce stress. Being physically healthy supports better overall health, not to mention your relationships. No rushing, no forcing, no panic, just breath, listen, and allow God to lead.
