The Bethesda-Reach Women’s Institute is once again having its annual Fall Fashion and Dessert Show at the Seniors’ Centre, 35 Marietta Street, Uxbridge, on Thursday, September 25th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Enjoy a preview of autumn fashions from Wood’s Clothing and Threads Boutique as well as delicious homemade desserts and snacks. Tickets are $25, with proceeds supporting local high school scholarships. Don't miss out. Call 905-852-5284, 905-852-3925, or 905-985-3976 to reserve a spot.

The September full moon is known as the Corn Moon, as it marks the month for harvesting corn, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac. The blood moon, visible in many parts of the world, will not be visible here; however, the moon will appear much larger due to its proximity to the Earth.

I can’t miss applauding all the volunteers for both the Port Perry and the Uxbridge Fairs. Each personified our Rural Roots, but were very inclusive for all friends near and far. The Uxbridge slogan of “The Prettiest Fair in Ontario” and “Children at the Fair, Everywhere” certainly provided a diverse range of child entertainment for the thousands of children in attendance. Can’t say “Thank You” enough to all the volunteers again.

The first week of school is in the rearview mirror, and I wish all students and teachers a very successful year ahead.

To all our Friends celebrating a September birthday, we wish you “The Happiest Birthday and a Year where dreams come true”

All are welcome to Epsom church for worship this Sunday, September 14th, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Edith Ann presiding and fellowship to follow.
