Epsom & Utica news

by Faye Ashton

Hope each of you have a great March break week. There is lots of snow yet for all winter activities.

Rob and Andy were busy this weekend getting the 600 trees taped through knee high snow. It took two hours cleaning the lane with tractor and bucket to get to the bush last week so that’s an indication of the amount of snow. Hopefully that produces a big run.

This Friday we will enjoy another Full moon, “crow” meaning signalling the end of winter. Also called the “sap” moon too.

Wasn’t that a party! Darlene invited 40+ to help celebrate her 85th birthday, at the Mandarin last Monday. We had a grand time visiting with friends from near and far. It certainly was a day to remember. Thanks Dar from all of us for a very special time together in celebrating you and the fun you always bring to a party.

Grandson Braydon enjoyed all the friends and relatives who came on Sunday to wish him a happy 17th birthday. He spent last weekend until mid-week, at Sick Kids, getting well from this bad virus going round. I am so glad he got back home to celebrate.

Our condolences to the McCartney family, formally of Utica/Manchester, on the passing of Wilma McCartney Midgley, later residing for many years in Greenbank.

Church at Epsom United this Sunday starts at 10:30 a.m. It is the second Sunday of Lent with Rev. Edith Ann.
