Wow, what a weekend for the Uxbridge “Fall” fair! We dodged raindrops on Friday and Saturday and held firm on Sunday, so the cold wind didn’t blow us away. None of that was relevant to the fantastic crowds which attended the tractor pull on Friday evening, the crash-up derby on Saturday evening and the number of cars which had to park on the roadside of Elgin Park Drive because the parking lot was full up on Sunday.
There was so much planned entertainment at the band shell for young and old, and buildings arrayed with veggies, flowers, baking, photos and crafts imaginable. The agricultural tent was alive with all farm animals both days, and a large flock of sheep and goats were judged under the trees in their respective groups. Some travelling from quite a distance. The Uxbridge 4H dairy club showed their club calves on Saturday morning with the garden tractor club in motion at the same time. The Beef producers showed their calves/cows around the ring for placement too on Sunday as the show horses were showing their talent on the track followed by the heavy horse pull. The super dog show attracted a large crowd ready to cheer on these amazing animals and trainers. The mini peddle tractor pull was loads of fun for the young ones as they dreamed of someday being in the bigger pull. The antique car show brought cars from afar and showed how gorgeous these antiques were in their day. A huge thanks goes out to all the volunteers who kept this event running through rain and wind to produce one of the prettiest fair in Ontario.
