Faye Ashton SPECIAL TO THE STANDARD

This was a beautiful weekend gifted to us to finish up the last outdoor Fall chores.

Looking ahead it appears we might have a few warm days this week too. Even though it was a cold morning for Remembrance Day, a very large and dedicated crowd gathered at the war memorial cenotaph in Uxbridge to pay respects for the many area soldiers who gave their life that we may live in freedom today.

Thursday is movie afternoon in the church’s lower room. Three movies have been chosen to choose one from. Welcome to Mooseport, Not without my Daughter and Miss Congeniality 2. These three are all very different in thoughts. Nothing is written in stone as there are many others to choose from. See you there at 1:30 p.m. for treats, coffee, juice and a movie.

Sunday November 19th is a special day at Epsom United Church as we celebrate the 147th year as a place to come to worship as a community. Starting with a finger food breakfast, coffee and juice at 9:30 a.m. Bring photos of times and celebrations which are special to you. A church service to follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Edith Ann. And so begins year 148 asking Gods blessing on this community and church as it looks into the future.
