FAYE ASHTON Special to The Standard

Congratulations, to the PPHS Curling Club for excelling in Kingston this past weekend. They showed really compete and stand with the best as curlers.

The Canadian Women curling group out of Ottawa magically won the World Cup title over Switzerland Sunday afternoon. As Canadians we have so many reasons to be proud.

What a sight lit by the almost full moon these last two nights. Hopefully, Monday's “worm” full moon will be brighter still. We have missed the moon light, with so much cloud cover this Winter.

The real Winter we experienced this past week was a few weeks late coming but we knew it would not disappoint.

As we prepare for Good Friday please consider joining with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank Committee for breakfast Good Friday at 10 a.m., Epsom Church. A free will offering will help plant this years crop to help relieve hunger around the World.

There are so many groups around Ontario giving in this manner but we have been running 40 years. Starting back when Floyd Evans and Don Asling and many ambitious helpers filled several trailer loads of 100-pound bags of corn at the Co-op in Uxbridge to send overseas. Even though this is not the method used today, the product now is being sourced as close to the need to save on transportation, the end result is the same.

All are welcome to come and celebrate Easter at Epsom Church, 10:30 this Sunday March 31st. You will find the message uplifting. Come and stay for fellowship.
