Our summer is quickly moving along, and I’m sure the school students will make the most of these last two weeks. We all hope it will be a normal school year for students and teachers this year.

Our sincerest sympathy to Lynda Card in the passing of husband Don. Don grew up on Medd Road with parents Noreen and Alan, sisters Diane and Kathy, and brothers Rob and Ron. Condolences to each of you and your families.

Congratulations to Dr. Mark Irwin, director of the College Zoo Technology program and Professor of Biology, on publishing his textbook ‘Zookeeplng, an Introduction to the Science and Technology’ in a second language. The English edition of ‘Zookeeping’ was published in 2013 by the University of Chicago Press. When Temaiken Biopark Zoo in Buenos Aires asked Mark to translate, publish and distribute the 700 pages into Spanish to improve animal care in Latin America, he accepted the challenge. Mark lived on Medd Road for several years attending Epsom Public School. Mark is the son of Carol Wilson and Dennis Irwin.

Happy 75th birthday on August 24th to Marilyn Munro, who lives on the 8th Concession with her husband, Ross. Wishing you an awesome day and year. Happy birthday to a former neighbour Nancy Skelding on August 30th, who shares the same birthdate as Brooklyn Kerry. Wishing each of you a wonderful celebration and to all others that are celebrating this month.

Happy 20th anniversary to Rob and Allison Ashton, who celebrated on August 11th. Wow, time flies. Congratulations to Mr.and Mrs.Jeremy Houghland, who were married on July 10th at the family farm on the 6th Concession and also to their parents James and Thelma Houghland, who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Best wishes to each of you.
