DURHAM: The Durham Regional Police (DRPS) have taken another step in the process to name a new Police Chief.
On Tuesday, August 24th, the Durham Regional Police Services Board announced they had chosen Environics Research Group “to assist the Board in the consultation phase of the Chief of Police selection process.”
Todd Rollauer has been serving as interim chief since September of 2020, when Chief Paul Martin retired.
“Environics is a recognized leader in data collection and analysis, and is well-positioned to support the Board in the critical task of consulting our community and stakeholders on the selection criteria and the competencies needed in our next Chief of Police,” Board Chair Bobbie Drew said, in a statement. “The consultation phase is a key part of the Board’s Action Plan to Enhance Trust and Confidence in the DRPS, and we are excited to initiate the process to choose our next leader.”
A press release, from the police services board, explained the consultation process would include community partner discussion groups and an online survey.
