Cynthia Davis named new Lakeridge Health CEO

DURHAM: Lakeridge Health has found their new President and CEO. On Wednesday, September 23rd, Lakeridge Health announced they have appointed Cynthia Davis to the position. She will begin work as the organization’s CEO on January 4th, 2021. “Ms. Davis is a highly respected, collaborative leader with an impressive track record of driving transformational change within an integrated, complex health system,” read a statement from Sharon Cochran, Chair of the Lakeridge Health Board of Trustees. “She brings the right mix of leadership skills, clinical and operational expertise, an impeccable reputation among physicians and her clinical peers, and a passion for patient-centred care and community, to ensure Lakeridge Health continues to respond to the growing needs within Durham Region.” The position was previously held by Matthew Anderson, who left to join Ontario Health. Susan deRyk was appointed Interim President and CEO while Lakeridge began their search. Ms. Davis has been serving as the President and CEO at Western Health in Newfoundland and Labrador. “I am excited for this tremendous opportunity to work with the physicians, staff, community partners and everyone who is part of Lakeridge Health,” Ms. Davis said, in a press release. “Together, we will continue the momentum toward building a health system that meets the needs of Durham Region. I look forward to joining the team and being a part of this transformational change.”
