CAESAREA by Eleanor Colwell

Caesarea Nestleton Euchre: Here are the March 5th euchre results. Gail Crawford finished in first place. Doug Day was second. Val Priebe finished third. Linda Carder and Lorna Edgerton tied for fourth place. Marg Cayer and Elaine Bailey tied for fifth place. Linda Carder had the most lone hands. Sheila Patterson had the low score. Al Cadieux had the mid score. Euchre is held in the Nestleton Community Centre 3971 Hwy 7A, every Thursday except holidays. Play starts at 7:30 p.m. and all are welcome. Pine Ridge Garden Club: The Pine Ridge Garden Club will be meeting on March 10th at 7:30 p.m. at the Nestleton Hall. The guest speaker is Geoff Carpentier speaking on Sharing Your Garden With Nature. Blackstock Cartwright Lions Club: We hosted our annual Lions Junior English Effective Speaking Contest on Wednesday, March 4th with nine speakers from Cartwright Central Public School. The winning speaker was Mikayla Shaddock speaking on Skiing. Other speakers included: Jackson Fleming (runner-up), Anna Nesbitt, Chloe Malcolm, Bryce Conway, Cole Kemp, Sabrina Attanasio-Smith, Erica Simms, and Allyssa Carnaghan. All speakers were presented with books. Thank you to Deann Moase and staff for encouraging and supporting these students.
