Hey Blackstock! Get Ready! It's the annual Blackstock Fair and Demolition Derby, coming to our village on Saturday, August 23rd. Buildings open at 9:30 a.m., gates open at 4 p.m. The Demolition Derby presented by IFD Promotions will start at 7 p.m. Admission for adults is $15, and children 5 to 12 are $5. Cash only.

Congratulations to all students on the completion of another year of school. Enjoy the upcoming summer vacation.

Birdseye Pool in Port Perry is offering a FREE swim on July 16th, from 6:10 to 8 p.m. A great way to cool off.

Jake Meyer celebrated turning seven with his family on the Truck and Tractor Pull weekend. Happy Birthday, Jake!

The last coffee drop-in at Blackstock Nestleton United Church was held at the end of June with an excellent turnout. Thank you to Ellen Martyn and Gail Johns for hosting. We will start up again in September.

Ellen Martyn enjoyed a few days in Vancouver visiting family. Hunter and Scarlett were thrilled to spend time with Grandma.

Several local families participated in jet ski races recently at Sylvan Lake. The Carnaghan, Bower and Meyer families all enjoyed the competition and, although no prizes were claimed, lots of fun was had.

Soccer and baseball continue at Cartwright Fields throughout the upcoming weeks. A special thanks to all the organizers and coaches for spending this quality time with our youth. It is so appreciated.
