Blackstock news

by Janet Van Camp

The team of Sam and Mary Meyer and Kyle and Heather Searle  emerged as winners of The Amazing Race Port Perry for the second year in a row. However, the real winner is Oak Ridges Hospice which is the beneficiary of this fund-raising event. A huge thank you to the organizers and volunteers for putting on such a great event.

Marie Van Camp and her son, Scott Attfield, have been staying with Janet Van Camp while visiting family and friends in the area. Scott is employed as a heavy equipment mechanic by Toromont Industries in Timmins.

If you paid a membership fee to belong to the Blackstock Agricultural Society, you are encouraged to attend the meeting on Wednesday, October 9th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Blackstock Recreation Centre. In order to meet ONCA requirements for non-profit organizations, some changes need to be made to our constitution.

Drop-in coffee time at the Blackstock United Church is starting again on Wednesday, October 23rd from 10 a.m. to noon. All are welcome.
