Blackstock Co-op Nursery School (BCNS) is accepting registrations for its Junior Kindergarten Readiness Program that runs on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. through to June 18th. BCNS is a non-profit organization committed to providing a positive learning experience for children in the Blackstock and surrounding area, for over 40 years. Play-based programs introduce children to a variety of learning experiences, enabling them to develop socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. On Friday, February 7th, Cartwright Sports and Recreation hosts its Annual Comedy Night at the Blackstock Recreation Centre. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Chuck Byrn, Jeff Elliott, and Cedric Newman are the three comedians from Yuk Yuks who will be performing. This is a 19 plus event with a cash bar. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Euchre results for Tuesday, January 14th: Norm Lackner came in first and had the most lone hands. Elmo Gibson finished in second place. Jacky Attfield came in third, Joan Graham was fourth. Leah Burgess, Pat Allemang and Doug Day tied for fifth place. Hazel Coates and Marion Koppens tied for mid score. Blackstock Euchre is held every Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m., except holidays, in the Blackstock United Church Hall. Everyone is welcome.
