BLACKSTOCK by Tammy Phillips

It was wonderful to see the community come out to the Blackstock Recreation Centre parking lot, this past Saturday, to help the Scugog firefighters ‘Fill The Fire Truck’ for Operation Scugog.

Unfortunately, I didn’t learn about this twist to the 2020 edition of their annual toy drive until after last week’s deadline. So I was unable to include it in the column. But there was plenty of word of mouth and social media sharing.

Santa And Mrs. Clause are coming to town! On Sunday, December 20th Santa and Mrs. Claus will be chauffeured around the streets of Blackstock, greeting everyone from a safe social distance.

Residents are encouraged to come out along the route to wave hello as the merry couple depart from the Church Street area, near the Blackstock Recreation Centre, at 1 p.m.

They will head down Old Scugog Road to Crestview Avenue and then back up and around Mason Street. From there, they will continue down Old Scugog Road, making their way towards Greensboro Drive and wrap up back on Church Street, close to the Blackstock Recreation Centre.

The Blackstock-Nestleton United Church is hosting an online ZOOM worship service on Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24th at 7 p.m. The link is available on the church website: https://blackstock-nestletonunitedchurch.com.

News and items for consideration, can be emailed to link2tammy@gmail.com by 12 noon on the Monday prior to publication date.
