Upgrades Coming to Harold Bell Memorial Park in Goodwood

COURTNEY McCLURE The Standard

GOODWOOD: The baseball diamond at the Harold Bell Memorial Park, in Goodwood, will be closed for just over a month, for construction to replace aging equipement. The construction began on Monday, September 25th.

The park itself will remain open during construction.

According to Courtney Clarke, the parks, trails and facilities manager, for the Township of Uxbridge, expects improvements for the diamond will include: a new backstop and overhang, a new line fence and foul poles and a new dugout with new player benches.

“These changes will benefit the community and visitors, by enhancing the overall quality and safety of the baseball diamond, making it a more enjoyable and functional space for players and spectators alike,” explained Ms. Clarke.

At this time, a rough draft of the finished baseball diamond is not available, said Ms. Clarke. However, if you wish to keep up-to-date with these ongoing changes, please keep an eye on the Township of Uxbridge website, at uxbridge.ca.
