SEAGRAVE by Barb Martyn

Yes! We are enjoying 12 hours of daylight and the first day of spring arrives on the 19th. More good news. Jean Short is home after a lengthy hospitalization and doing well. She asks for no visitors at this time but to communicate through her e-mail at Happy Birthday wishes to Ethan Cannon on the 16th, Carol Coleman on the 17th and Brett Drew on the 21st Happy Anniversary to John and Kim DeBono on the 20th. The Greenbank and Seagrave United Churches have postponed services and events up to and including March 29th, due to the COVID-19 virus. We have determined that we have a responsibility to protect and prevent possible exposure to our congregations. Please continue to take personal precautions and to check to see if neighbours and friends need assistance, in any way. If you would like personal prayers during this time, please feel free to contact Minister Stephanie at 905-718-8086 or via email at We are monitoring the situation carefully and will keep you informed about further decisions and possible web-based worship services. The Park Board is planning an Earth Day and Pancake Breakfast on May 2nd from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are looking for environmentally based vendors who would like a spot at a cost of $20. All proceeds go to park and hall improvements. They also will be collecting used clothing, bedding, and small household items. The Tribute to Neil Young Concert at the Seagrave Church on April 18th has been cancelled. We will keep you posted when a new date is determined. As we journey through Lenten Season, remember this is the season to turn around and let the Son shine in. This is the season to fast and to feast. Fast from judging others and your feasting may be the gift that brings hope and love to another person. Praying is a powerful tool, and we are praying for our entire church family, community and the world during this time of uncertainty.
