Bring the whole family out to the Uxbridge Scottish Festival! For 30 years, Scottish culture has been celebrated in Elgin Park, bringing together tradition, music, and community. Join us Friday, July 24th, and Saturday, July 25th, as the Uxbridge Scottish Festival continues this proud tradition with a multi-day event of Scottish Heritage for all ages. Visitors can experience the excitement of the Highland dance competition and the sound of bagpipe performances. Throughout the day, you'll find Scottish entertainers, traditional music, and Scottish food. The celebration begins the evening before with a Friday night concert, kicking off a weekend filled with Scottish culture. Entry is by donation. We are proud to keep the festival accessible to all. Entry on Saturday is by donation, with every dollar going towards making the Festival even bigger. The Highland dance has over 140 dancers competing in traditional routines. The address is Elgin Park, 180 Main Street South, Uxbridge. Friday, the gates open at 5 p.m., and music starts at 6:30 pm. The Mud Men perform at 8 p.m.

The 56 Ontario open fiddle and step dance contest takes place in Bobcaygeon on July 24th and 25th. The contests start on Friday, July 24th, at 12 p.m. and Saturday, July 25th, at 9:30 a.m. This will take place at the Bobcaygeon Curling Club, 49 Mansfield Street. Online registration closes Wednesday, July 22nd, at midnight. In-person registration reopens Friday, July 24th, at 5:30 p.m., at the Bobcaygeon Curling Club. The Ontario Open Fiddle and Step Dance Contest is a non-profit community-run project. This volunteer-run organization preserves the art form of pioneer culture and raises money for worthy charities and programs. This event is open to the public, and the organization invites the community to join them.
