The 55th annual Canoe the Nonquon will occur on Saturday, June 7th. Canoe the Nonquon is a fundraiser for the Scugog Shores Museum. The race is open to all ages and all skill levels. The course starts at the twisting Encon River for the first few kilometres. There are 12 kilometres of river paddling followed by a kilometre sprint along the shores of Lake Scugog to the Finish line. Participants race the clock and can start anytime between 8 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Registration will occur at the Latchem Center, 121 Queen Street, Port Perry, on Friday, June 6th, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 7th, from 7 to 10 a.m. The registration fee is $65 per canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard.

The Brock Township Public Library is hosting a Paint Pet night. Submit your pet's photo and have fun painting your beloved pet. This will take place on Tuesday, June 17th, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For just $10, you will get a pre-sketched photo and all paint supplies provided. No painting experience is needed! Register at the front desk, as prepayment is required.
