Scugog Township looks to have another successful Pitch In Week

DAN CEARNS, The Standard

SCUGOG: The Township of Scugog is once again calling on residents to take part in this year’s Pitch In Week initiatives.

Pitch In Week involves community members and volunteers participating in community or neighbourhood cleanup initiatives or events. This year’s Pitch In Week takes place from April 16th until April 22nd.

“Let’s work together to clear garbage and recycling [which] has accumulated over the winter to ensure our neighbourhood, local parks, greenspaces and trails are beautiful and safe for everyone to enjoy,” Township Clerk Becky Jamieson said, at a meeting on Monday, April 3rd.

Interested participants are encouraged to sign up for a cleanup initiative on the Township’s website at www.scugog.ca.

“We will happily supply garbage bags and gloves (while supplies last) and schedule to pick up your collected garbage after your clean up,” a Scugog Township press release states.

Mayor Wilma Wotten has challenged all of her council colleagues to participate in this yearly initiative.
