Santa Claus coming to North Durham, Kawartha Lakes communities

NORTH DURHAM/KAWARTHA: Santa Claus will be making a trip through North Durham and Lindsay in the next couple months. The first Santa Claus parade in The Standard’s coverage area will be in Uxbridge this Saturday, November 16th. The 59th annual parade will begin at 11 a.m. The theme for the 2019 edition of the parade is “Snowed In.” The parade begins at the corner of Brock Street and Centre Road, and then heads east on Brock Street to Nelkydd Lane, and will finish at Uxbridge Secondary School. Kids are encouraged to bring their letters for Santa to the parade, as Canada Post will be collecting them. For more information, visit www.uxbridgesantaclausparade.com. The following day, Sunday, November 17th, the Jolly man will be in Lindsay for their parade. The theme for the 2019 Lindsay Santa Claus parade is “Christmas at the Movies.” The parade will begin at 2 p.m. and will follow Adelaide Street South to Kent Street, and will take Kent Street to Lindsay Street. The Scugog Chamber of Commerce will put on the Port Perry Santa Claus parade on Saturday, December 7th. The parade will begin at 5 p.m., and the theme is “A Christmas Miracle on Queen Street.” The parade starts at the Port Perry Fairgrounds, heading along Simcoe Street, Queen Street and Water Street, before finishing at Mary Street.
