RMH Board of Directors Select Veronica Nelson as President and CEO

KAWARTHA LAKES: Ross Memorial Hospital's Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Veronica Nelson as the hospital's next President and CEO.

"After conducting a thorough recruitment process, Ross Memorial Hospital's Board of Directors is excited to announce Veronica Nelson's return to the hospital in this vital leadership role. Veronica's deep understanding of our institution, proven leadership and longstanding commitment to our mission gives us great confidence in a strong and visionary future, under her guidance," stated Christine Norris, Chair of Ross Memorial Hospital's Board of Directors.

Ms. Nelson will begin in the role on September 8th, 2025.

Currently the President and CEO of Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS), Ms. Nelson will rejoin Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) on an interim basis, after departing in June of 2023 for that HHHS position, before officially taking over in December 2023.

She started her career at RMH 25 years ago, as a Medical Radiation Technologist, and worked her way up to being the Director of Diagnostic Imaging. She had also been a Project Manager, Interim President and CEO, helped lead the development of the local Ontario Health Team, and most recently served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Throughout it all, she has made many lasting connections with RMH team members and provided mentorship and support, specifically in the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

Ms. Nelson will be taking over from current RMH President and CEO Kelly Isfan, who will be retiring on August 29th, 2025.
