SCUGOG: Prince Albert Public School is thrilled to announce a generous $10,000 donation from the Prince Albert United Church. This extraordinary contribution will directly support student well-being, creativity, and physical activity throughout the school.

The donation will fund several key initiatives and resources, designed to enrich the daily experience of all students. With this gift, the school plans to:

  • Improve learning and literacy resources, through the purchases of stem kits, shoe box tasks to support the special education resources and library resources

  • Support wellness and equity, through an enhanced snack program and a fund to support families in need

  • Improve outdoor play equipment and enhance the kindergarten area

  • Support school culture by bringing in school wide presentations or activities.

“This donation is a true investment in the heart of our community—our children,” said Shauna McMurray, Principal of Prince Albert Public School.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Prince Albert United Church for their support and their belief in the value of the youth in our community,” said Carolyn Puterbough, Chair of the School Community Council (SCC).

The SCC and school plans to begin implementation of these upgrades in the coming months, with input from students and staff, to ensure the greatest impact.

The Prince Albert United Church congregation is proud to support the school which is an important part of our community, and help provide them with the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Representatives of the Prince Albert United Church which has recently amalgamated with Port Perry United Church, presented the donation during the Prince Albert Public School talent show, held on June 12th, 2025.
