Obstacle course race returns to Port Perry Fair

SCUGOG: The Tough Udder race is based on the Toughest Mudder, a series  of team-based races, where competitors work together to overcome  an obstacle course in the mud and reach the finish line.

The course will feature six obstacles over the span of a one kilometre track. Teams of four will race using ankle timers to determine the  fastest teams.

Bonnie Cohoon, Toughest Udder organizer, is eager to bring the race to the Port Perry Fair for the third year. “The fair board and I are very excited about the event. It’s new, fun and will bring family members out to support the teams,” she said.

This year there are six categories. New this year is an individual category.

A team must consist of four people in the following categories: Male team 18 years and older, Female team 18 years and older, Co-ed team 18 years and older, Family team with a minimum age of 12 years, Children’s team with a minimum age of 12 years and a maximum of 17 years.

All participants must sign a waiver and anyone between 12 and 17 years  of age must have a guardian sign a waiver on their behalf to participate in the obstacle course.

All proceeds from the obstacle course will go to the Port Perry Fair.

Registration fees for teams are $20 per person or $80 per team of four if registered by August 1st, $25 per person and $100 per team of four if registered by August 2nd until the day of the race.
