SCUGOG: All around us, creatures are conducting their lives, many largely unseen. Who has observed amorous salamanders, piscine stonemasons, or crooning tree crickets? We are more aware of birds and the larger mammals, but there are a host of animals which are active underwater or after dark and are seldom noticed. Others use camouflage to conceal their presence.
Everyone is welcome to North Durham Nature’s March talk, to hear Don Scallen share stories and show images about fish, caterpillars and other animals which slip under our radar. The meeting starts at 7 p.m, on March 24th, at the Scugog Memorial Public Library, in Port Perry.
Mr. Scallen is a writer, naturalist, and former president of the Halton North Peel Naturalist club. He is a regular contributor to, an acclaimed regional magazine, called, In The Hills. His site is, https://www.inthehills.ca/author/don-scallen/ and he has published two books: Nature Where We Live and Spotted Salamanders and their world”
All are welcome to this presentation. Visit www.northdurhamnature.com for information about our outings and other talks.
