Message from the Mayor

On behalf of the Township I invite Scugog schools, families and residents to join us in Palmer Park on Wednesday, June 21st, 2023 at 10 a.m. to commemorate Indigenous Peoples Day. We asked the students to make and place paper flowers on our gazebo in the four indigenous colours (the Four Sacred Directions of the Medicine Wheel are represented by the colours yellow, red, black and white). This is an opportunity to gather with our youth on the territorial lands of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation providing a chance to reflect and acknowledge the significance and contributions of First Nation peoples here in Scugog and across Canada.
