Mechanical issue at Lindsay Water Reservoir resolved

KAWARTHA LAKES: The municipality is advising residents who are connected to the municipal drinking water system, in Lindsay, a mechanical failure occurred within the water reservoir, on July 4th, 2025, resulting in higher-than-normal flows through the system.

The issue was promptly addressed, full repairs completed and normal operations were restored later that evening.

At no time was the safety of the drinking water compromised. The water remains safe for consumption. However, some residents may temporarily notice discoloured water, due to the increased flow. If this occurs, simply run your cold water taps until the water runs clear.
