KAWARTHA LAKES: Each Friday night at Queen Victoria PS in Lindsay, the Lindsay Social Dance Club gathers from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Seniors from all over the region come to dance to live country music and have a fun time together. The Lindsay Social Dance Club started as a singles club in the early 70's at someone's home. Later, they held dances at the Moose Lodge in Lindsay, also known as the Loyal Order of Moose. Today, the Lindsay Social Dance Club has become a social club where people can dance as couples or singles.

Although not mandatory, they offer a membership that includes a free Christmas dinner, door prizes and dance. Otherwise, you can pay a fee at the door to participate. The Lindsay Social Dance Club welcomes new members. Even if you do not know how to square dance, they encourage you to come and partake in a fun evening of dancing and live music. Check out their Facebook page to learn more about the Lindsay Social Dance Club. They have a calendar of future events, including the Benefit Dance for the Boys and Girls Club Kawartha Lakes. It will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Boys and Girls Club from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the dance or by contacting Dave Ferguson at 705-878-1119.
