Lindsay Muskies versus St. Mike’s Buzzers Tuesday Afternoon

CRAIG SCHROTER Special to The Standard

KAWARTHA LAKES: There was a huge crowd on hand Tuesday afternoon, as the Lindsay Muskies hosted public schools from around the area but they couldn’t pull off a win as they fell by a count of 5 to 2, to the St. Mike’s Buzzers. The Muskies had another slow start as St. Mike’s rolled up a 3 to 0 first period lead on goals by Finn Brown, Thomas Sinclair, and Matteo DiGiulio. The Buzzers out shot Lindsay by a count of 16-6. In the second period the Muskies were able to tighten things up and were able to get more shots on goal than St. Mike’s but the only goal went to Toronto’s Ryan Alexander. In the third period the Muskies continued to get stronger, and they made a game of it. Bryce Caruk’s second of the season from Thomas Johnston and Noah Vandervinne, came at 11:15, then just over four minutes later Curtis Trolley notched his fifth goal from Caruk and Tucker Firth to close the gap to 4 to 2. The Fish were not able to get any closer though and in the end an empty net goal from Kobe Desmond rounded out the scoring. The next action for Lindsay is Friday night, when they host Trenton.
