KLAC Annual Art Show and<br>Sale Returns in Bold New Location

LESLEY DRUMMOND, KLAC

KAWARTHA LAKES: The Kawartha Lakes Arts Council (KLAC) is pleased to announce the Made in Kawartha Lakes (MIKL) Show & Sale, the organization’s premier event, is returning after a two-year hiatus. The last MIKL was in Fenelon Falls in November 2019 before COVID-19 disrupted large events and public gatherings. “Our Board of Directors is relieved and overjoyed to be able to bring MIKL back to the community,” says Ray Marshall, Chair of KLAC. “The last two years have been very difficult for local artists and artisans who have deeply missed collective opportunities to show and sell their work to the public and connect with their colleagues. I hope everyone in Kawartha Lakes marks their calendars to attend.” The 4th Annual Made in Kawartha Lakes will take place for the first time at Kawartha Settlers’ Village on Saturday, May 28th and Sunday, May 29th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Organized in partnership with the Kawartha Arts Network, it’s the first juried art show scheduled for the season in Kawartha Lakes. “Kawartha Settlers’ Village offers a unique location and collaboration for our show,” says Lesley Drummond, Event Planner and KLAC Director. “The public will have the exciting opportunity to see original art and fine crafts within the historic setting while our exhibitors will, for the first time, have the ability to choose either indoor or outdoor space. This new flexibility in the exhibit areas broadens the range of original work that we can accept.” Exhibit space is available on a first-come-first-served basis with KLAC member and non-member rates. Applications can be found at https://www.kawarthalakesartscouncil.com/events, and the deadline for submissions is April 15th. Admission to the show is free for visitors.
