Get ready for small town BIG

From April 30th to May 8th, 2022, Scugog Arts, in collaboration with individual presenters, will be putting on a multi-disciplinary arts festival to show off the vibrant art scene within Scugog. Discover all that this small town has to offer! Enjoy live music, visual art, theatre, film, Indigenous arts and more during our 9-day festival.

Come out to have some fun! With 22 events included in the festival here are a few highlights to add to your calendar.

In-Conversation with Drew Hayden Taylor.

The well-recognized Indigenous playwright will be speaking about his life and thoughts, his thirty-year career in the arts, and more! Photography Challenge with Jonathan van Bilsen

We are challenging you to photograph landmarks around our small town! Join Jonathan at his studio, 188 Mary Street, for a photography talk and Q&A, on Saturday, April 30th at 1:30 pm. You have from Saturday, April 30th to Saturday, May 7th to use your creativity and photography skills to capture the landmarks of Scugog. Submit your photos via email to info@scugogarts.ca or tag us @Scugogarts on Instagram. The top photos will be featured on our website and social media pages!

Theatre on the Ridge Interactive Warm-Ups & Activities.

Join Carey Nicholson, artistic director of Theatre on the Ridge, for an informal hour of play. This workshop introduces several engaging and stimulating theatre warm-ups and exercises that engage participants with physical awareness, creative stimulation and a great deal of fun! No previous experience or even an interest in theatre is necessary, just a little curiosity and playfulness! The workshop is open to children, youth and adults! Activities have been adapted to accommodate current health and safety requirements. Workshops will be taking place 10:30 am – 5:30 pm on Wednesday, May 7th.
