June left us very hot! Our July first celebrations were disrupted in the late afternoon by very strong winds and a downpour. Our hydro stayed on, but many surrounding areas were left without hydro for some time until trees and large branches were removed.
Well, this heat really did make things grow, and the weeds in my garden took advantage of the ideal weather too.
Again, Gremlins got the dates wrong in last week's news. It should have been Tuesday the 30th and 150, not 155 for the school.
Our community sends congratulations to Corinne Croxall for receiving her 70-year recognition as a member of Bethesda Reach Women’s Institute. Corinne has been a driving force for the institute as they have tackled many projects to better our community and beyond,, and Corrine just turned 101. You are such an inspiration to all of us, Corinne.
We send our congratulations to all our friends who are celebrating this month of July, be it a birthday or a special occasion in your life. May all the memories be good ones.
There will be no church services at Epsom United Church during July, but join the congregation at Glen Major United Church, where worship will be held at 7 p.m. this Sunday, with Rev. Kim Lawrence taking the service.
