CAESAREA by Eleanor Colwell

Caesarea Nestleton Euchre The Caesarea-Nestleton Euchre Club sends its condolences to the family of Doreen Sheehey who passed away this past week. Doreen was a long time member of both our club and the Blackstock Euchre Club. She will be missed by all of her euchre friends. Scores for January 16th are as follows; Judy Westall finished in first place with a score of 97. Pat Allemang and Heni Povey tied for second place. Brigitte Moase was third. Norm Lackner and Delaine Dyer tied for fourth. Hazel Coates was fifth. Judy Westall and John Kay tied for the most lone hands. Dianne Slute had the low score. Euchre is held in the Nestleton Community Centre, 3971 Highway 7A, every Thursday except holidays. Play starts at 7:30 p.m. and all are welcome.

Blackstock Cartwright Lions Club At our last meeting we welcomed Yvonne Degeus to our Club membership. We are thrilled to have Lion Yvonne assist us as we serve our community. Special thanks to our District Governor Debbie Dawson who performed the induction and presented recognition to our members. Congratulations to Ken Hudson on his 25 years of service and to Connie Ashmore who was presented with a certificate of appreciation for her dedication to our Club’s programs. Members received service pins showing the number of years they have served our community as a member of the Blackstock Cartwright Lions Club. This week, across our Lions District, is hailed as Membership Week. And in recognition of membership we all got together on Monday with friends and family for a social night out.
