BLACKSTOCK by Tammy Phillips

By the time this week’s column is published, Remembrance Day will have certainly looked a little different with mostly virtual services to honour the those who fought and sacrificed for our freedoms as well as those in active service/duty. Lest We Forget.

There’s one week left to get your orders in for the Mom’s Pantry fundraiser, which will benefit the Blackstock Co-op Nursery School (BCNS). This year, more than ever, BCNS needs the community’s support. As is the case with many organizations, COVID-19 has greatly effected the school’s fundraising efforts. The non-profit nursery school has been committed to providing a positive learning experience for children and their families in Blackstock and its surrounding areas for almost 45 years. Mom’s Pantry has an extensive selection of pastry items, cookie dough, muffin mixes and other baking products as well as appetizers, soup, pizza, protein mixes, tea and seasoning spices. There are dozens of items that would also make great holiday gifts if your looking to support not only BCNS, but a Canadian company. You can place your order direct with any of the school’s parents or directly online at the following address: https://momspantry.ca. Once you are ready to check out, you will be prompted to select Fundraising Order or Personal Order. Select Fundraising Order and use BCNS’s ORDER NUMBER: 318983 and GROUP PASSCODE: 25694. The deadline for orders is Thursday, November 19th, 2020. Purchases will automatically contribute 40 percent of proceeds to the non-profit school. Delivery will be scheduled at the beginning of December just in time for the holidays. BCNS families, and those who placed direct orders using the BCNS fundraiser codes, will be notified of the drop date via email. Pick up and/or family deliveries will be arranged in the safest possible manner with all COVID-19 protocols in place.

BCNS will also be holding its Annual General Meeting for all members on Monday, November 23rd, at 8 p.m. Due to COVID-19, the meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. To rsvp or find more information on either event, please visit the events page at this address: https://www.blackstocknurseryschool.ca/about/events/ or send an email at: info@blackstocknurseryschool.ca.

News and items for consideration, can be emailed to link2tammy@gmail.com by 12 noon on the Monday prior to publication date.
