Bring the kids out for a summer reading party at the Beaverton Town Hall on August 23rd from 10:45 a.m. to noon. Join us for a special illusion show and door prize draws. The Beaverton Town Hall is located at 397 Simcoe Street.
Come out to the third annual Teddy Bear Picnic, on Thursday, August 14th, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be at 1025 Craig Road, in Uxbridge. You will have so much fun, there will be a wagon ride, going on a bear hunt in the forest, feed animals, do crafts, play games, and enjoying have a tasty snack box! The Canadian Mental Health Association of Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge is having an Art Splash in Lindsay, at Victoria Park, 210 Kent Street West. This free event is taking place on Friday, August 15th. Brighten your day with encouraging chalk art and inspiring messages. Chalk will be provided, and everyone is welcome to stop by, draw, right, or simply enjoy the colourful atmosphere. Each event will also feature a water station and information table where you can learn more about the Hope Learning Center's free Mental Health and Wellness courses.








These local events sound like a lot of fun — I especially like the idea of the Teddy Bear Picnic for kids. Summer is also a perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy the water.
