KAWARTHA LAKES: The NDP’s Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock Provincial Riding Association has chosen Barbara Doyle as their candidate in next year’s provincial election.

The local riding association made the announcement on Thursday, November 4th. Ms. Doyle previously ran for the NDP in the 2019 federal election.

“I am committed to standing up for local families, to ensure they have the services they need. I have fought to defend local public health care, and I will keep fighting to expand it, so people and families in our communities get the care they need where and when they need it. I am determined to make life more affordable for families who have been hit hard during this pandemic with skyrocketing prices for housing, child care, and some of the very basics of life. Together, with Andrea Horwath and the NDP, we can have a brighter future, with more access to health care, education, affordable housing, good jobs, and real action on climate change,” Ms. Doyle said in a statement.

Barbara Doyle is a co-founder of the Kawartha Lakes Health Coalition and works at the Olde Gaol Museum. She was born and raised in Lindsay, where she continues to reside.
