Annual Port Perry pond hockey tournament cancelled due to weather
DAN CEARNS, The Standard
SCUGOG: Recent rain and above freezing temperatures in Port Perry have forced the cancellation of the annual Lake Scugog Pond Hockey Tournament.

The tournament had been scheduled to be held this past weekend in Port Perry, and was going to support Big Brothers, Big Sisters of North Durham. The cancellation was announced on Wednesday, February 8th.
“Unfortunately, due to the current thickness of ice on Lake Scugog and the above normal temperatures, we have made the decision to cancel the Tournament,” read a post on the tournament’s website. “We would like to sincerely thank everyone who signed up to join us on the ice, and our amazing sponsors and partners who dedicated their time and resources to make this possible. Please continue to watch for updates concerning our next tournament.”
The annual tournament sees teams compete in three-on-three hockey games on the lake.
