100 Men of Scugog continue community support this summer

The 100 Men of Scugog staged the third meeting of 2026, in fine fashion, on a Wednesday night. Hey, more snow. The group met at the Port Perry Legion, on July 15th. The Legion, with a huge amount of help from Doug Babcock, has been an amazing partner in facilitating these meetings. The group is more than grateful for their ongoing help. Presentations were made by Big Brothers/Big Sisters North Durham, North House and The Lake Scugog Historical Society.

It was a tough decision, as all three organizations are more than worthy candidates, but in the end Margie Ayres and the Big Brothers/Big Sisters North Durham was the group chosen to receive the award of $6,400.

The 100 Men group is growing but could use more members. There were seven new members at Wednesday’s meeting. This is an incredible assembly of people, who donate their time and, more importantly, their dollars to charity organizations which serve the fine people of Scugog. 2025 saw the 10th anniversary of the group, and, to date, 100 Men of Scugog has raised almost one quarter of a million dollars to donate. Impressive numbers, indeed. Tyler Renaud and Nick Semeniuk are to be commended for leading the charge with this great group. If you want to get involved, you are more than welcome.
