NORTH DURHAM: The 66th edition of the Sunderland Lions Music Festival gets underway on April 8th and 9th at S.A. Cawker Public School in Port Perry, featuring elementary and secondary school bands, followed by piano, vocal and instrumental classes on April 14th through April 23rd at the Sunderland Town Hall auditorium.

The festival has been presented annually by the Sunderland Lions Club since 1958, with a three-year hiatus from 2020 to 2022 due to Covid.

The festival provides an opportunity for young musicians from throughout North Durham Region and beyond to perform publicly and receive professional adjudication. Over 100 different piano, vocal and instrumental classes are available for performers to choose from.

Class winners will be featured at the 'Stars of the Festival Concerts' on the evenings of April 28th, 29rd and 30th, at the Sunderland Town Hall auditorium.

For further information on the festival, including the 2026 festival syllabus and program, go to www.SunderlandLionsMusicFestival.com.
